What is Leadership Gilroy? 

The Program

Interest, motivation, diversity and the commitment to serve for the long-term benefit of the community are the guiding principles of selection. Participants will reflect a cross section of the community: business, government, and community services as well as education, ethnicity, gender and community involvement.

The Goal

To develop leaders who will be instrumental into taking Gilroy into the 21st Century. Graduates of the program will be armed with the skills and confidence to run, serve, and be effective on councils, boards, committees, etc.

The Curriculum

This extensive nine-month program consists of three major components: skills training, community awareness, and personal development. Topics for leadership training sessions will include: team building, communications, facilitative leadership styles, values and ethics, personal life balance, effective meetings, diversity and conflict resolution. Participants will also be responsible to complete a community project during the nine-month period.
