The Project

The Leadership Gilroy Class of 2005 completed a major community‑impact project focused on supporting Mt. Madonna High School by helping the school launch a new music program.

During round‑table discussions with parents, students, and educators, the class learned that Mt. Madonna wanted to create a music program but lacked funding and instruments. After hearing this need, the class chose it as their official project.

To raise the necessary funds, the class organized a large charity event at Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park. The event included a classic car show, a concert, dinner and a raffle.

The class recruited sponsors, secured donations, marketed the event, and educated the community about the importance of music education for continuation‑school students.

Their efforts raised $9,219, which they presented to the school to launch the program. They also continued working to secure instrument donations from professional musicians to fully equip the new music program.
