The Project
Leadership Gilroy Class of 2011 created Spice of Life, The project was designed to launch Gilroy’s first weekly downtown farmers market with a goal of celebrating local food, culture and art.
The Spice of Life Festival & Market was held on June 5, 2011 and featured more than 50 vendors. Offerings included fresh produce, artisan goods and locally made products. The Spice of Life festival kicked off a weekly Sunday farmers market which continued under the management of the Gilroy Demonstration Garden until November of 2011.
