The Project

A Salute to Our Veterans centered around a community event held on October 1, 2022 at the Gilroy Veterans Memorial Building to bring awareness to the needs of the Gilroy Veterans Hall. The Leadership Gilroy Class of 2023 raised over $73,000 in an effort to support a place where local veterans connect, heal and build community. The event included a new flagpole dedication (which the class helped refurbish), a community open house, a silent auction and benefit drawing. Guest speakers included local leaders and local veterans. The class of 2023 community project wasn’t just about a one-day-event. It was about preserving a community hub for veterans, improving a space used for ongoing support and showing visible appreciation of those in our community who have served.
