Leighan Perales

Board Secretary

Leighan is a lifelong Gilroy resident and 2005 graduate of Leadership Gilroy (Instruments for Mt. Madonna High School).  She attended Gilroy schools and Gavilan College before eventually earning her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of San Francisco.  Leighan currently works as a Nurse Manager at St. Louise Regional Hospital.

She began volunteering in her community at a young age when she would work booths at the Gilroy Garlic Festival to support her basketball team as well as fireworks booths for Gilroy High School cheer.  Giving back to her community has spanned into her adulthood as she was a Founding Member of the Latino Family Fund, a volunteer in many capacities for the Gilroy Unified School District, South Valley Civic Theater and a supporter of the Gilroy Foundation.

Leighan and her husband John raised their three children in Gilroy and are proud of the foundation in the arts, education and culture they received as they now complete their respective studies in law, theatre and English.

In her spare time, Leighan enjoys soaking up all the time she can with family and friends, and traveling to new places.
